Admissions Process

We are thrilled that you are considering WMS!   We strive to make the admissions process smooth for everyone, and we are happy to answer any questions you might have about our school, our teachers, or Montessori methods in general.  To get started you may email us or contact our office by phone at 781-237-6670 or email at: office@wellesleymontessori.org

Children are evaluated on the basis of readiness for school and the Montessori environment.  We encourage families who are interested in learning more about Montessori methods to apply.  Children who are 15 months, and older, can begin at the school. Children who are more than four years will usually be considered for admission only if they have had prior Montessori experience.

Tuition scholarships are available for qualified families.  A letter of request must be addressed to the Board of Directors for consideration, with tax IRS information included.

Wellesley Montessori School welcomes all qualified individuals regardless of gender, race, color, creed, disability, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin.

To Apply

  • An initial parental visit is required prior to receipt of application forms.
  • Please call the school office to schedule a tour and classroom observation and meeting with the director.
  • Submit your child’s application papers, also available on our website, as soon as possible to ensure a spot for the upcoming school year.
  • Parents will be notified of Admission decisions by February 15th.

Preference is given to returning children and siblings. New children, ages 15 months to 4 years and 2 months, will fill any available spaces. A child older than 4 years and 2 months would be considered for admission if they have had prior Montessori experience or spots are available. Children may be admitted on occasion during the school year.

“If education is always to be conceived along the same antiquated lines of a mere transmission of knowledge, there is little to be hoped from it in the bettering of man's future.”
